The book is an explanation of Mashariq Al-Anwar Al-Nabawiyyah from the Sihah Al-Akhbar Al-Mustafawiyya by Al-Radi Al-Din Hassan bin Muhammad Al-Safani (d. 650 AH) | The author of the book, Maher Taher Ismail Al-Barzanji, said about the time of writing the book: None of the authors of biographies and classes mentioned the time in which Ibn Malik wrote his book Mubariq al-Azhar, but he wrote it in the eighth century, and perhaps he wrote it before the middle of it, and God knows best.
