It contains corrections, comments, and transcription differences in the margin. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

In the name of God... Chapter on his saying, “Whatever we abrogate from a verse or forget, We bring back something better than it.” Amr ibn Ali told us, he said, Yahya told us... on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said, Omar said, “My father taught us and made us judge... ... Chapter on his saying: {Indeed, in Joseph and his sisters were signs for those who ask.” He said, “The best of you in pre-Islamic times are your best in Islam if they understand it.” Abu Usama continued on the authority of Ubayd Allah. The nineteenth part of the thirty parts of Bukhari has been completed... and it is recited at the beginning of the twentieth part: {He said, “Rather, my souls have asked you}.
