Notes	"A narrative followed by illuminated pages of the history and customs of the inhabitants of that country, a photographic brochure, a map"., "The first edition is one of one thousand volumes, comprising 750 standard copies, 175 de luxe vellum bound volumes, with cover designs impressed on gold tissue ; each ornamented with scarab book mark, a limited edition of 75 de luxe Morocco bound volumes, embellished as above and each numbered, signed by the author and contained in a finely decorated pochette."--Colophon., This copy is one of the 175 de luxe vellum bound volumes., "Most pages are illuminated by N. Strekalowsky. The following artists also contributed - M. Fischer, H. Bindhart and E. Kassessinoff. The epilogue design is the work of Bernard Rice. Elsa Masters has engraved the Dedication design for the book. W.E.A. Masters has made a woodcut to illustrate "The old, old story" design. P.S. Searight has contributed two designs for the margins of the History pages. M. Rice has contributed several wood engravings to the history and customs section, and many engravings by students of the School of Fine Art, Cairo, are also contained therein. Salah Chiaty, one of the staff of the School of Applied Art, Cairo has put at the author's disposal numerous wood and linoleum engravings. Photographic pages are by many artists of the camera in Egypt. A map has been designed by J.H. Rowntree, M.B.E. The author has designed the two outer covers of the book"--Title page verso (page 6)., "Also history and customs of Siwa Oasis"--Cover., Includes an illustrated publishers book plate on inside front cover.
