Ebū Bekr Ahmed b. ʿAlī er-Rāzī el-Ceṣṣāṣ (d. 370/981) does not systematically and holistically present the wording types he includes in his works in the context of fiqh procedure, based on their relationships with each other, nor does he give a division regarding the wording types. This study includes el-Ceṣṣāṣ's Şerḥu'l-Cāmiʿi'l-Kebīr, Şerḥu Muḫtaṣari'ṭ-Ṭaḥāvī, Uṣūlu'l-Fiḳh -el-Fuṣūl. It is about the comprehensive and holistic examination of the wording types in the works fī'l-Uṣūl-, Aḥkāmu'l-Ḳurʾān and Şerḥu Edebi'l-Ḳāḍī. In this regard, in the article, respectively muḥkem, müteşabih, ẓāhir, common, truth, metaphor, ṣarīḥ, kināye, muṭlaḳ, muḳayyed, mubhem, ʿumūm, ḫuṣūṣ, naṣṣ, mücmel and müfesser. Types of words are discussed in terms of their nature and relationships with each other. During this analysis, some principles and determinations reached regarding al-Jaṣṣāṣ's approach to wording types are shared under a separate section. Then, the wording types in al-Jaṣṣāṣ's understanding of procedure were presented with explanations through a diagrammatic division, and some comments and inferences were made regarding the division. In our study, it was seen that the use of word types of al-Jaṣṣāṣ included flexibility but also presented a general harmony and consistency, and it was concluded that the possibility of presenting it through a diagram could be evaluated as having a systematic and holistic background in these uses.
