ABSTRACT: Babai Rebellion constitutes one of the turning and breaking points in the history of the Turkish Seljuk State. The state had a hard time suppressing the rebellion, and it could only be stopped in Kırşehir Malya Plain with the support of paid Frank soldiers. Is the rebellion a simple rebellion caused by adventurous plunderers who gathered around a madman who claimed to be a prophet and had the ambition and enthusiasm to seize power? Or is it a very important social event with underlying political and economic reasons? Our study covers the political, social and economic reasons of the Babai rebellion and the relations of Babai leaders Baba Ilyas and Baba Ishak with Ahi Evran and the Ahis.
