Notes
Hadiths were recorded and classified in the successive period. Later, commentary and compilation studies were carried out within the framework of these works and hadiths. Different works have been written to find hadiths in a short time, to increase the benefit from them and to make this easier. Alphabetical works that list the hadiths according to their first letters are of this type. The work named Muḫtârü'l-eḥâdîs̱i'n-nebeviyye ve'l-ḥikemi'l-Muḥammediyye, which belongs to the Egyptian Sayyid Ahmed el-Hâşimî, is a work of this kind. This work, which has been translated into different languages, is taught as a textbook by various groups, especially in some madrasahs in our country. The fact that it appeals to a wide audience necessitates that this work be examined within the framework of hadith sciences. The narrations in the work have been examined by us, and the author's possible hadith source or sources have been examined. Since it has more of a terğîb and terhîb nature, only the relevant narrations in the work were drawn to attention and such narrations were included in the study. In this context, among the narrations in Muḫtār, the narrations that Gumārī and Elbānī judged to be fabricated were arranged and numbered in alphabetical order.
