Dr. İsmail Hakkı (1870-1938) was born in Milas district of Muğla. After completing his primary education here, he studied medicine in Istanbul and served in various official positions. Although he was a medical doctor, he participated in many religious discussions during his time and wrote works. In general, he focused on the beauty of Islam's commandments and the wisdom of its prohibitions and tried to explain them scientifically. Milaslı has works on various subjects in the fields of religion, medicine and language. In the article, Milaslı's life, works and views on Islam are examined. Thus, it is tried to reveal the religious debates in our recent history and Milaslı's contributions to these debates.
