Notes This Article Ahmed b. It aims to reveal what kind of sect Hanbalism, which is formed around Hanbal's views, is. Various debates have arisen about the Hanbali sect from its emergence until today. Is Hanbali, which is accepted as one of the four Sunni fiqh sects, actually a fiqh sect? Is it a religious sect? If it is a religious sect, what is the reason why Hanbalism is among the four Sunni fiqh sects? Or, as a result of some subsequent evolutions, did the sect lose its religious orientation and turn into a fiqh sect? The present study focuses on these and similar issues.
