Notes
This article aims to focus on the concept of 'everyday racism' through the experiences of African immigrants in Istanbul, and to examine how racism is created and reinforced in the context of everyday practices, and the effects of everyday racism on the lives of African immigrants in Istanbul. Within the scope of the ethnographic field study, in-depth face-to-face interviews were conducted with 50 African immigrants living in Istanbul and their experiences of "everyday racism" and its possible effects on their lives were investigated. He argues that “everyday racism” manifests itself in power relations between groups, and that structural inequalities are reinforced through everyday experiences and interactions.
