Notes
Babai Rebellion; It is a religious, political and social uprising launched by Baba Ilyas-i Khorasani and one of his caliphs, Baba Ishak, in Anatolia in 1240 against the Seljuk administration due to its mismanagement. This uprising, whose impact lasted for centuries, was the largest Turkmen uprising in Anatolian Seljuk history and caused the Anatolian Seljuk State to be subjugated by the Mongol Empire. The rebellion, which has an important place in the political and social history of Anatolia, is also a starting point for examining and understanding the popular movements in Turkey's history, and especially Alevism and Bektashism, which are discussed today, with a healthy approach.
