Although Abu Ishaq al-Shirazi (d. 476/1083) was a famous Shafi'i jurist who grew up in the Shiraz region, it is understood from the works he left that he was also an Ash'ari theologian with extensive knowledge in the science of theology. One of his important qualities is that he is known as the first teacher of Nizamiye Madrasa. Şîrâzî's works on the science of belief and theology have survived to this day. In this context, Şîrâzî's works named el-İşâre ila sect ehli'lhak and Akîdetü's-selef are the books that have survived to the present day on creed and theology. Among these works, elişâre ila sect resembles the classical creedal texts of ehli'l-hak. The principles of Islamic belief are listed without paying attention to any particular order and the texts are sufficient. The work named Akîdetü's-selef, although smaller in volume, has the characteristics of a theological text. Because, starting with the subject of existence, the basic concepts of the universe-God relationship are explained, and the existence of the universe and its need for a creator is explained through rational inferences. Ultimately, this study aims to introduce the works written by Şîrâzî, who has a vast knowledge in different fields, on the science of belief and theology, as well as to present his theological views together.
