The concept of Islamic finance, which was first included in the banking system in Turkey in the 1980s, has a market share of nearly 9 percent in the entire banking system as of today and has become an area on which many academic studies have been conducted. The aim of this study is to identify the studies carried out in the field of Islamic finance, which has developed rapidly in the world and in Turkey and has reached a remarkable size within the entire finance sector, and to make a summary contribution to the literature. For this purpose, a total of 894 master's and doctoral theses published between 1989 and 2023, located in the National Thesis Center Database of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), were examined with the bibliometric analysis method. In the scan, the keywords for the field of Islamic finance were Islamic finance, participation finance, interest-free finance, Islamic bank, participation bank, interest-free bank, Islamic insurance, participation insurance, takaful, Islamic capital market, participation capital market, sukuk, lease certificate, Islamic fund, participation fund, Islamic index, participation index, Islamic microfinance, participation microfinance and karz-ı hasen. These keywords were searched in both thesis titles and thesis abstracts. The results are shown under 8 headings with the help of tables and graphs. This study reveals that the subject of Islamic finance is becoming more and more relevant every year, and students and academics are becoming more interested in the field of Islamic finance every day. Islamic finance, which was included in the banking system for the first time in Turkey in the 1980s, has become a field with a market share of nearly 9 percent in the entire banking system and a lot of academic studies on it as of today.
