Notes
Hz. The Prophet occasionally used narrative techniques such as similes, metaphors and allegories in order to effectively convey his messages to his addressees. Metaphor is widely used in hadiths as a narrative technique. At the same time, the metaphor allows the concrete expression of abstract issues such as faith, Hz. It is one of the narrative features that constitute the religious language of the Prophet. In this article, some sample expressions selected from the hadiths in the Kitābu'l-Īmān section of Muslim's al-Cāmiʿu'ṣ-Ṣaḥīḥ are discussed in terms of the various meaning dimensions that the metaphor adds to the expression, and at the end of the study, the figurative expression technique used especially in relation to abstract areas is explained by the Prophet Muhammad. It has been concluded that it has an important place in the Prophet's style.
