Notes	Abstract: The sign of nass to meaning is divided into two: mantûk and meskûtun anh. The use of a meaning about which the speaker prefers to remain silent in the derivation of sharia has been discussed under the title of "mefhûmü'l-muhâlefe" and has been a matter of controversy among scholars. However, Hanafi scholars have carried this discussion about maskûtun anh to a wider area in terms of content. In this study, we will try to reveal what the Hanafi scholars mean by the concept of meskûtun anh, specifically in the context of Serahsî. (mefhûmü'l-muhâlefe) and it has been a matter of controversy in the presence of scholars. But Hanafi scholars enlarged this debate about “meskûtun anh” to a larger area with regard to content.In this study, it will be tried to reveal what Hanafi scholars -especially Sarakhsî-mean with the concept of meskûtun anh.
