Notes Geschichte des Qorâns (History of the Qur'an) is Theodor Nöldeke's work on the history of the Qur'an, written in 1860. The book was republished in three volumes with some additions in 1909-1919-1938, with the contributions of Friedrich Schwally, Gotthelf Bergsträßer and Otto Pretzl. The printing process, which spanned nearly a century, allowed the book to include new topics and sources. The fact that Nöldeke and the other three authors cite works done both in the East and the West has made the book rich in terms of resources. The number of sources in question exceeds five hundred. If we need to categorize the sources in Geschichte des Qorâns, we can divide them into two: Islamic and Western sources. Islamic sources, especially old manuscripts, are under the headings of tafsir, ulûmu'l-Qur'an, recitation, resmü'l-mushaf, hadith, siyer, history, tabaqat, biography, geography, bibliography, dictionary, grammar, literature, dictionary, poets' divans, fiqh, ethics and refutation. It is possible to categorize. In this study, we included only the Islamic sources of Geschichte des Qorâns. Western sources will be the subject of another article.
