Semânî is an important methodologist who belonged to the Hanafi sect but later preferred the Shafi'i sect and used the mutakallimin method well. In his book of procedure called "Kevâtiu'l-edille", Semânî directed many criticisms about ahad news to Debusi, who knew the fukaha method well, defended the Hanafi sect fiercely, and was considered the first founder of the science of Cedel. In order to better understand the subject of Ahad news, we discussed Semânî's criticisms of Debusi in our research. The criticisms that Semânî made to Debusi about ahâd news are as follows: Compliance with the principle of Umum al-belvâ, whether the narrators are jurists or not, the relationship between usul and qiyas, presenting the hadith to the Quran, mursal news and other subjects of news. Semânî tried to refute with evidence the understanding of procedure determined by Debusi within the framework of ahad news on these issues.
