Notes	Like every period, medieval historiography has its own unique writing style. This style, which is generally based on the citation method, envisages creating new works by taking inspiration from the writings of previous authors. These uncontrolled quotation habits of medieval writers caused similar repetitions and conscious or unconscious information deformations in history writing. The author's ethical perception, concern about being liked, religious, ethnic or geographical affiliations are important determinants of how the information obtained from the previous source will be served. The dominant ideology or government of the period often whets the historian's appetite for adapting the same event or situation to his own age. In this article, the basic character of medieval historiography and the repetition of information in the sources of the period will be discussed, and on this occasion, the deformation created in the essence of knowledge by the historian himself will be examined through sample texts.
