Notes	Poetry, which has an important place in Arab society, is a type of literature that dates back to pre-Islamic times. Poetry continued to maintain its importance after Islam. This must be due to the importance of Arabic poetry, although language scholars take the Quran as their primary basis in the way of regularizing the Arabic language grammar; They referred to poetry more than the Quran in referencing Arabic poetry, which ranked second. In Arabic literature, the theme of honor has been among the themes used in poems since the Age of Ignorance. The most important poets produced by the period of ignorance are undoubtedly the muallakâ poets. In this study, the fourth mu'allaqah, Lebîd b. Rebiâ el-Amirî's life and only the honor-themed couplets she wrote in her mu'allaka will be discussed. Muhadram took his place among the poets because he was the only person who accepted Islam among the Muallakâ holders. Lebîd used all the poetic themes that existed during the Ignorance period in his couplets, and he particularly distinguished himself in the themes of description and honor. While dealing with the theme of honor, the poet did not resort to gaining the admiration of others or gaining financial gain from the figures he praised, as was the case with some poets of the period. The honorable poems he wrote were about describing the characteristics of his tribe or its members. This feature of Labid made him respected not only in the eyes of his own tribe but also among other Arab tribes.
