The aim of this study is to evaluate the rise of Islam, defined as a political identity by sociologist Nilüfer Göle, who made a name for herself with her research on modernity, secularism and Islamism, in Europe and Turkey. The scope of the study will focus on the physical and discursive dimensions of the Islamism of the author in question, which has become public and politicized with its class identity in today's Turkey, and has begun to gain visibility in all its diversity both in individual practices and in public spaces by becoming a contemporary of the modern world in Europe. The main thesis of the article is that the author states that Islam is now; It cannot be defined only with a religious identity and cannot be limited to the Middle East geography, but also as a political identity, the Western world, especially Europe, which stands out with its religious and cultural diversity and democratic practices, should take more into consideration. This necessity will also enable the discussion of problems such as 'xenophobia', 'racism' and 'Islamphobia', which are increasingly emerging in the West, and the understanding of the sensitivities of Muslims who are excluded and questioned because of their beliefs and affiliations.
