Notes This research is limited to revealing some of the religious reasons why Muslims ceased to be subjects in determining or constructing world history as of the 20th century, based on the works of our Independence poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who witnessed the disappearance of the Ottoman Empire from the stage of history in the early twentieth century and who had the intellectual knowledge of his time. Thus, in Akif's view, a number of religious reasons have been identified for why Muslims, who have actively assumed the role of subject/subject in shaping world history for many centuries, have become objects on which plans and calculations are made all over the world, especially in the Middle East. As a result of this research, it was seen that Akif, in his work titled Safahat, in which he collected his poems, complained that Muslims were addicted to inertia, despair, apathy, corruption, ignorance, division and nationalism and that they lost their power because of this. In addition, it has been observed that he mentioned the wrong perception of fate, an understanding of trust that has been diverted from its purpose, a religious narrative full of superstitions, the transfer of some fabricated stories as hadiths without being sorted through a scientific method, the constant imposition that the world is transitory, and thus their drifting away from the world of laziness, as important factors in the misery of Muslims. The main aim of this study is to offer some solution suggestions to the problems that Muslims face today, based on the thoughts of the national poet. In the research, the author's own works were examined as the primary element, and the sources conveying his thoughts were examined as secondary elements.
