Notes In the Arabic language, the concept of tarabīb and murekkeb, which has the same root letters, are concepts used to describe the combinations of multiple words. The concept of composition can be used for structures that come together to form a sentence, as well as structures such as phrases, phrases or reduplications that show together. According to the type of word association it corresponds to, the structures that show unity in Arabic grammar are isnādī tekīb, iḍāfī tekīb, mezcī tekīb, taḳyīdī tekīb, taʿdādī tekīb, ʿadedī tekīb, ṣavtī tekīb and taḍammunī. Many names have been given, such as tarabīb. As a matter of fact, this concept is included in the explanation of many topics in grammar with its terminology and dictionary meaning. This study examines the way the concept of tarabīb appears in grammar and tries to describe the meaning of the concept through content analysis with the help of classical and modern sources. While determining the scope of the concept, the syntactic and semantic features of the structures expressed with this concept are explained. According to the results of the study, it is seen that this concept has a wide range of meaning in grammar, both in term and dictionary meaning. It is understood that the term terkīb is generally used for words that come together, and the term murekkeb is used to describe integrated structures where two words are combined and gain a new meaning.
