Notes The issue of whether depiction is permissible in Islam and what can and cannot be depicted is an issue that has been discussed by scholars for many years, but there is no consensus on it. While some scholars say that the prohibition covers only embodied beings, some scholars have adopted the view that it also includes apostate beings. The most important and most discussed part in this regard is Hz. It is whether the image of the Prophet can be depicted or not. Since there is no consensus on the depiction, sometimes miniaturists depict the Prophet Muhammad. While Muhammad's face is depicted openly, in some periods he is depicted wearing a niqab. Hz. We see descriptions of some events in the life of the Prophet in various history books. However, these are depictions of non-chronological and sometimes even fictional events, usually consisting of a few pages. Following a chronological order, Hz. The first example in which the life of the Prophet is described is the book Siyer-i Nebî written by Mustafa ed-Darîr. Illustrated copies of the book were created during the Ottoman period, and these works were created by Prof. Dr. Reviewed by Zeren Tanindı. In this study, the work published by Hürriyet Foundation Publications in 1984 under the name "Siyer-i Nebî, the Life of Prophet Muhammad in Islamic Depiction Art" will be introduced.
