Notes Aggression, which has many psychological, biological and socio-cultural sources, is one of the most important problems of today. Since aggression is a multidimensional problem, its solution should be addressed in a multifaceted manner. One of the most important approaches to preventing aggression is religion. Religion develops feelings of meaning, conscience, compassion, patience and empathy, and provides the ability to control emotions and behaviors through reward and punishment mechanisms. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between religiosity and aggression in university students. The sample of the research consists of 507 young individuals studying at Karadeniz Technical University, Faculty of Letters, History, Sociology, Turkish Language and Literature departments and Trabzon University Faculty of Theology. Buss-Perry Aggression Scale, Intrinsic Religious Motivation Scale and Ok-Religious Attitude Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. As a result of the analysis of the data collected in the research, the following findings were obtained. The aggression level of women is lower than that of men. A positive relationship was found between smoking frequency and aggression. Negative relationships were determined between intrinsic religious motivation and religious attitude and aggression. The research has revealed the importance of developing religiosity in preventing aggression, which is a current problem.
