Since the revelation of the Holy Quran, Muslims have concentrated on its reading quality. Educational complexes have been established in this context since the first period. During the Ottoman period, institutions where Qur'an and âşere-takrib education was given were called dârulkurrâ. These darulkurras were located in certain centers of Anatolia. One of these centers was established in Palu, a district of Elazığ. The existence of a dârulkurrâ, where âşere-takrib education was given in Palu during the Ottoman Period, is known by official records. This dârulkurrâ was built in the Zeve District, located in the southwest direction of Palu Castle. Seyyid Hâmid b., who was known as Şeyhülkurrâ, was the chief professor of Dârulkurrâ. el Hâc Abdülfettâh el-Paluvî was appointed. Seyyid Hâmid completed his education at Tokat Hatuniye Madrasa and wrote his specialized book called Zübtetü'l-irfân, which made a name for himself in the science of recitation. Hâmid b., who completed his work in 1173/1759. It is known that Abdulfettâh came to Palu for the construction of the darulkurrâ. Darulkurra, which is known to have been completed in six years, actually started education in 1179/1765. This dârulkurrâ was founded by Seyyid Mustafa b., one of the residents of Palu. It was built by Seyyid Abdulbaki.
