Notes
The human sense of knowing is an inherent ability. From infancy to adulthood, different methods have been tried to find satisfactory answers to the need to know. As the famous philosopher Aristotle mentioned in his work "Metaphysics", "All people naturally want to know." The problem of meaning can be likened to an open wound until the answer is found in the person. Pain and suffering will not end until that wound is closed. In this work, Latif Tokat asks "What is the meaning of meaning?", "The problem of meaning?", "Is meaning without God possible?" It tries to find answers to important questions of human life under different headings such as. When we look at the general evaluation of the work, we see that when trying to find an answer to the question of meaning, questions of religion and belief in God are encountered. If these questions remain unanswered, it is inevitable that a person will experience existential pain. In my opinion, philosophical questions have recurred throughout history and every thinker has tried to find answers by bearing the mentality of the period in which he lived. In this sense, Latif Tokat put forward the arguments about "meaning" throughout the history of philosophy with a descriptive study, and also drew attention to the position of religion in these questions with an analytical analysis.
