Notes Although the concepts of civil religion and political religion are discussed separately in the literature, there are not many studies focusing on the relationship between them. In this study, the impact of political-theology and theology-political concepts on the formation of civil religion and political religion was evaluated, it was discussed whether civil religion, which was examined in line with the thoughts of Rousseau, Durkheim and Bellah, could be the basis for the transition to political religion, and the relationship between civil religion and political religion was tried to be explained by presenting political religion within the framework of different approaches. The concepts themselves were examined with the phenomenology method and evaluations were made through examples. In line with the findings obtained, it has been revealed that political-theology and theology-political transformations should occur in civil religion and political religion formations, when Rousseau's theory and its applications in the world are examined, there is a thin line between civil religion and political religion and mutual permeability between them is possible, and socialism-based political religion formations can turn into local political religion forms. It is predicted that the reality of globalization and the conservative reflexes it affects may cause new transformations from civil religion to political religion and from political religion to civil religion.
