As far as we can determine in the hadith books, there are three marfu narrations with different contents on the subject of 'Evvelü ma nezel', or in other words, 'the first revelation' in the Sira, history, tafsir and hadith sources. In addition to these, there are also many preserved and maktû' narrations. However, with the thought that it would exceed the size of the article, the deceased and deceased narrations were not included. The first of the relevant marfu' narrations is 'Alaq surah 1-5. Stating that the verses were the first revelation to be sent down, Hz. The narration of Aisha (d. 58/678), the second of which is in the 1-5th chapters of Muddassir sura. Stating that the verses were the first revelation to be sent down, Hz. The narration of Jabir (d. 78/697) and the third narration is by the tabiun Abu Maysara 'Amr b., who stated that the entire Surah al-Fatiha was the first revelation to be sent down. It is a mursal narration of Shurahbil (d. 63/683). In our article, the value of the mentioned narrations in terms of hadith science and the first verses to be revealed were determined in the context of these narrations. With the findings obtained, Hz. Aisha, Hz. Câbir and Abu Maysara 'Amr b. Considering Shurahbîl's marfu' narrations, it is seen that 'Alak surah 1-5. It was concluded that the verses were the first revelation to be revealed. In the biographical, historical, exegetical, and hadith sources, we can identify three different narrations, known as "Evvelü mâ nezel" or "the first revealed verse" regarding the topic of the first revelation. Alongside these, there are numerous mewquf and maqtû' narrations as well. However, due to the constraint of article length, the mewquf and maqtû' narrations have not been included. Among the relevant marfû' narrations, the first narration is attributed to Âisha (d. 58/678), stating that the first revelation consisted of the first five verses of Surah Al-'Alaq. The second narration, attributed to Jabir (d. 78/697), indicates that the first revelation comprised the first five verses of Surah Al-Muddathir. The third narration, a mursal narration by Abu Maisara 'Amr b. Shurahbil (d. 63/683), claims that the entire Surah Al-Fatiha was the first revelation. Within the context of our article, the aforementioned narrations' value within the field of hadith scholarship and the identification of the first revealed verses based on these narrations have been examined. The findings lead to the conclusion that, when considering the marfû' narrations of Âisha, Jabir, and Abu Maisara 'Amr b. Shurahbil, it can be determined that the first revelation consisted of the first five verses of Surah Al-'Alaq.
