Notes Hijri VII. The century was a very difficult and complex period for Muslims. During this period, sectarian conflicts increased, ignorance became widespread, and Muslims were exposed to attacks by the Mongols. Therefore, the scientific works written in this period are very important for the revival of science. In this context, Abu'l-Abbas Ibn Taymiyya can be given as an example as a scholar who revived science in his time. Ebu'l-Abbâs Ibn Taymiyye, who was exposed to many troubles during his time, produced useful works in many branches of science and wrote many works in the field of tafsir, despite all the troubles. Even though he wrote his works on tafsir in the form of treatises; These treatises contain more useful information than the great works written on the method of tafsir. In addition, in our opinion, it is of great importance to know the life and views of Abu'l-Abbas Ibn Taymiyyah, a researcher who influenced both his own period and the periods after him and whose influence continues until today, who does not shy away from speaking the truth and who is an uncompromising scholar. In this context, we will first describe the life, teachers, students and works of Ebu'l-Abbâs İbn Taymiyye, and then we will examine his views on the method of tafsir, using the example of his work "Mukaddimetun fî Usûli't-Tefsir".
