Notes In this article, Mu'tazila's theory of imamate has been examined at theoretical and practical levels. What imamate means and how it is perceived by various groups is revealed. In this context, the imamate of the fadil and the variability of the condition of virtue in the imamate are discussed in detail. Political reflections of the Imamate theory by Vasıl b. Ata and Amr b. It is revealed based on Ubeyd's political stances and the political activity of Mutezile during the Abbasid period. In order to understand Mutezile's political attitude correctly, imamate theories must be well understood. In this context, Mutezile developed the concepts of fadil imam and mefdul imam. It has been observed that the early Mu'tazila were sensitive about social and political justice, and during the time of Harun Reşit, this attitude evolved into the opinion of accepting every just government as legitimate.
