Notes
Orientalism is not a movement that deals only with Islamic works. On the contrary, orientalism is closely interested in the history of Islam itself, the emergence of Islam and its main source. Orientalists have conducted research in various areas of the Islamic religion in this context. One of these areas, and perhaps the most important, is recitation. Among the orientalists, one of those who made detailed studies on recitations is Ignaz Goldziher. We investigated his views on the emergence of recitations and the differences between recitations, his views on turning the Qur'anic texts into Mushafs and Hazrat Osman's Qur'anic copying studies. Thus, we tried to clarify Goldziher's view about the emergence of Recitations.
