As a matter of fact, the mursal narrations were considered weak due to the interruptions in their narrations and it was stated by the majority of hadith scholars that they were not suitable to be used as evidence. Usul scholars, on the other hand, have presented a completely different perspective from the hadith scholars, from the definition of the mursal hadith to its value in terms of evidence. In this study, first of all, Imam Shafi'i's (204/820) approach to mursal hadith will be discussed and his claim that he opposes the ijma regarding the acceptance of mursal hadith will be discussed. Then, the mursal hadith approach of Shafi'i usul scholars will be tried to be determined based on the basic works written in the field of fiqh usul. Additionally, in our study, Ahmet b. Based on Hanbal's own views, the mursal hadith approach will be determined and the mursal hadith approach of Hanbali usul scholars will be discussed and examined in outline.
