Notes Allah sees and knows everything. Therefore, it is clear that he does not need any documents or witnesses to bring his servants to account. However, it is explained in the Quran that there will be many witnesses in the Supreme Court that will be established in the afterlife. Stating that the functioning of this court is similar to the judicial procedures that people know and are accustomed to in their worldly life is aimed at making it easier for the servant to understand the situations of the afterlife. Because man's mental capacity in this world does not have the ability to comprehend the events that will occur in the afterlife. In this respect, the events in question are expressed in the Quran using symbols and analogies in a way that people can understand. In this article, we examined who/what the witnesses are who are reported to testify in favor of or against the servant in the great court and the characteristics of these witnesses. We have determined that it is not God who needs witnesses on the Day of Judgment, but the servants, and that these witnesses will provide great benefits to them both in this world and in the hereafter. A servant who knows that he is not left alone in this worldly life, that there are angels watching over him at all times and recording all his deeds, and that he will complain about the owner of the bodily organs that Allah has entrusted to him and which are used to sin against Him, will definitely refrain from committing sins. In addition, those who are treated unfairly and oppressed in the world will find peace with the presence of these witnesses and will never lose their belief that sooner or later the oppressors will be held accountable.
