Notes Bismillah, one of the basic elements of Islam, is a word of refuge that is said to be recited in order for things to end well and to expect help from God's mercy. The Bismillah mentioned in Surah An-Naml in the Holy Quran has also gained an important place in literature, and it has become a tradition to write the Bismillah at the beginning of the works of the classical period. In this study, firstly, information about the basmala was given, and then the basmalas were classified according to their subjects and literary styles. Poems in the type of besmelename were examined in three groups according to their content. These are texts that explain the secrets and virtues of Bismillah and the importance of starting with Bismillah. In addition, the bismelanames were examined in terms of style. Literary styles that can be identified in poems of this type; The styles are tavsif, nasihatnâme, tahkiye, hasb-i hal and prayer. In the classification, sample texts that are considered to be included in the relevant title are given under each heading. Along with the works in which only the expression "Bismillah" is written, works on the subject of "Bismillah" - in verse or prose - have also been written. Examples of this genre, in which the subject is entirely devoted to the basmala, starting with the basmala and its importance, or the definition or description of the basmala, have features that can form a genre in their own right. On this occasion, the characteristics of this species, which is only mentioned in some studies, have been tried to be revealed in the article by using the identified samples.
