Every society has its own myths. These myths tell about the events that took place at the beginning or after the beginning of time, belonging to divine-semi-divine beings, as well as the origin or cause of something. While myths explain these issues, they also provide important information about the society to which they belong. Myths, initially transmitted orally, are later recorded. Thus, over time, it can be seen that some myths either remain unchanged as narratives or continue to be reshaped and told, depending on the changes in society. In this regard, Hindu mythology offers a remarkable field of study, both because of the information it provides and because it continues to be explained in different ways over time. In this study, the change that occurred in society as a result of the Aryans coming to India, their encounter with the Dravidians and the emergence of new ideas in Hindu religious thought will be tried to be shown through the Satī myth in the Kālikā Purāṇa. In addition, the myth in question will be evaluated in terms of the features and functions of myths.
