Notes
Water architecture, which has an important place in medieval urbanism, has become richer in Diyarbakır with its different dimension resulting from the climate and geography of the Southeastern Anatolia Region. Water has taken its place as an indispensable element not only in religious and social structures but also in civil architecture. In water architecture, fountains are simple structures offered for public use. In this study, Tahtalı Katsal Street Fountain, Arap Şeyh Mosque Fountain, Sultan Şüca Fountain, among the fountains located in Diyarbakır city center, were tried to be examined by supporting them with drawings and photographs. It has been determined that the fountains examined are among our cultural riches that complement the city architecture. In order for this heritage to be transferred to future generations, it must be restored to its essential functions.
