Notes In this study, the psychological aspects of helping behavior shown during the pandemic were examined. The research was conducted with qualitative methods with police officers to examine helping behavior. 15 people who voluntarily participated in the study were asked 3 semi-structured questions about their thoughts about the pandemic and their views on helping others. The data were evaluated with descriptive analysis and content analysis. According to the findings of the research; Participants experienced negative emotions such as stress and anxiety related to the pandemic. Helping behavior provided peace, trust, power, a sense of control, empathy and motivation. Based on these research findings, it is thought that the positive effects of helping behavior on mental health during the pandemic may be valid in similar crisis situations, and our main recommendation is that the society should be informed about the scope of helping behavior.
