In this study, the prefaces and prefaces of İbn Cüzey's work called et-Teshil li 'ulumi't-tenzil were examined in terms of its approach to style and methodological problems in tafsir. Ibn Cüzey includes useful topics and general principles in his work; He wrote two introductions, the second of which consists of a dictionary containing the meanings of frequently used words in the Quran; Thus, he gave information about the method and style he followed; In the introduction, he explained et-Teshȋl, his reasons for writing it and his purpose in general terms. In this context, he criticized some works in the classical commentary corpus, sometimes by naming them but mostly in an anonymous manner, and made suggestions on how these problems could be overcome. What he means by doing this is, first of all, to reveal the importance of method and style in tafsir; Thus, it aims to provide a healthy perspective to those interested in academic tafsir and ordinary readers, and then to guide the reader on how to read this concise work. This is where the importance of the article stems from. In the article, a descriptive language was used in a style that turned from scientific personality to exegetical introductions, and then a general evaluation was made with an analysis-criticism-oriented approach.
