Notes In this study, the life of Muslim women in late Ottoman Urfa is examined within private boundaries. While trying to understand the limits of Urfa women in social life, the spatial structure of the city from its perspective towards women has been scrutinized. Thus, it has been possible to explain the data that the city offers within its possibilities from the perspective of women on the plane of space-human relationship. Sharia registers, which are Ottoman court records, are of great importance for understanding the world of people from all layers of society. Urfa sharia registers, with their rich content, also contain important clues that will present the world of local women to a certain extent. Therefore, in this study, in which registry records covering the years 1845-1915 were mostly used, it was aimed to define and give meaning to the private life of the Muslim Urfa woman.
