Notes Hz. The Umayyad State, which was established after the period of the Prophet (pbuh) and the Rashidun Caliphs, has an important place in Islamic history. The Umayyad Dynasty, the founding and ruling family of this state, plays the most important role in the state structure. In the study, the political events that the Umayyad Dynasty experienced within the Umayyad Dynasty, during the period accepted as the Sufyanid period of the Umayyad Dynasty, were examined in detail. In this process, the positive and negative events that the Umayyad Dynasty experienced politically, both with the caliph and among themselves, were discussed. The events that took place among the founding family of the Umayyad State, which was the first state governed by the sultanate system in Islamic history, are important for a better understanding of the state. While the political events experienced by the Umayyad family during the Sufyani period are discussed, it is also aimed to reveal the role and importance of the Sufyani family in shaping the establishment process and management approach of the Umayyad State. In addition, in this process, an attempt was made to reveal the position of the Mervanids, the other branch of the Umayyad family, and the extent of their relations with the Sufyanis. It was concluded that the Sufyani branch was more dominant in the political events among the Umayyad Dynasty during this period, and it was determined that this situation was due to the fact that the caliphs were members of the Sufyani family. In addition, it has been revealed that during the Sufyani period, the caliphs mostly appointed their own family members to religiously important positions, and especially the duty of pilgrimage emir was carried out by members of the Umayyad family. The Umayyad caliphate, founded after the Rāshid Caliphs, had a vital place in Islamic history. The Banū Umayya dynasty, which is the founding and ruling family of this state, played a significant role in the state structure. In this study, the political events among the Banū Umayyad dynasty in the period considered as the Sufyānids period of the Umayyad dynasty were analyzed in detail. In this process, not only the positive and negative outcomes of the events or relations between the Banū Umayya and the caliph and but also their individual relations within the dynasty were politically discussed. The events that appeared within the founding family of the Umayyad caliphate, regarded as the first state to be governed by the sultanate system in the Islamic history, are important for a better understanding of the state structure. The political events that the Banū Umayya family lived among themselves in the period of the Sufyānids. It is also aimed to reveal the role and importance of the Sufyānids dynasty in the establishment process of the Umayyad caliphate and in the shaping the fundamental elements regarding the state government. Meanwhile, the position of the Marwānids, the other branch of the Banū Umayya family, and the scope of their relations with the Sufyānids were also tried to be covered. Ultimately, it is understood that the Sufyānids branch was one of the most dominant and influential element in the political events in the Banū Umayya dynasty. This situation, in fact, a natural outcome of the due to the fact that the caliphs were members of the Sufyānids family meanwhile. In addition, it has been revealed that during the Sufyānids period, the caliphs mostly appointed their own family members to religiously important duties, and especially the duty of the pilgrimage emirate was carried out by the members of the Banū Umayya.
