Notes Dignity is a concept linked to the ideas of peace, respect, tolerance and human rights, which are especially important in multicultural and multi-religious societies, and the idea that "human beings are valuable" beings. It is very difficult to determine its definition and content. Because human dignity appears as a concept whose content changes throughout history and has social, philosophical, theological and legal dimensions. In Western societies, the concept of "honor" is defined variously in legal, moral and cultural terms, and the concept is analyzed. This analysis shows that the concept is defined in different ways, classically and modernly. It is thought that divine religions are effective in the perception of the concept. However, these religions are also expected to support social peace. Therefore, in order to understand the value that monotheistic religions attach to humans and their rights, the sacred books that form the religious worldviews of individuals need to be reviewed. This study excludes the concept of honor in the holy books of Abrahamic religions and discusses how the Islamic religion should approach the concept in line with the ways in which the concept is understood.
