Notes A spiritual meaning is attributed to the military title Gazi because it is associated with heroism and defense of the homeland. It is very important for veterans to know and meet their spiritual needs so that they can cope with the difficult experiences of war/terrorism and continue their adaptation to life. Scientific studies show that efforts to meet the spiritual needs of veterans make it easier to overcome the difficulties in the process. In this research, the Value-Based Spiritual Strengthening and Care Program (DOMAB) was applied to individuals who became veterans during their military service, and the effect of the program on the veterans' perception of the Creator and their psychological health was examined. A total of 64 veterans participated in the research, which was prepared with an exploratory and experimental design. 32 of them were included in the experimental group and 32 in the control group. In the spiritual care sessions held with theme-focused group meetings, the themes of perseverance, dedication, balance, freedom, will, self-confidence, positive perspective and peace, love, piety, prayer, patience, justice, gratitude and human-holy book relationship, among the values in the DOMAB program developed by Özdoğan (2019), were discussed. In the application, the pretest-posttest control group model method was taken as basis. As data collection tools, the God Perception Scale developed by Güler (2007) and the Brief Symptom Inventory developed by Derogatis (1992) and whose Turkish adaptation and reliability and validity studies were conducted by Şahin and Durak (1994) were used. Findings show that the application differentiates veterans' God perception and psychological health scores. Accordingly, the thesis, which was determined as the main hypothesis of the research, "The spiritual care practices carried out within the scope of the Value-Oriented Spiritual Strengthening and Care Program will differentiate the veterans' God perception scores and psychological health level scores" was supported. As a result of the analysis of the findings: (a) God perception scores differed in favor of the experimental group veterans. While there was an increase in the love-oriented God perception post-test scores of the experimental group participants compared to the pre-test scores, there was a decrease in the fear-oriented God perception post-test scores compared to the pre-test scores. In addition, the results of the three-month follow-up test administered to the experimental group participants showed that the effects of spiritual care continued and that the practice maintained its effect on fear-oriented God perception scores. (b) differentiated the psychological health scores in favor of the experimental group veterans. It was observed that there was a decrease in the Brief Symptom Inventory post-test scores of the experimental group participants compared to the pre-test scores. As a result of this application, it is clearly seen that the participants experienced improvement in the dimensions of anxiety, depression, negative self and hostility. Follow-up test results performed three months later showed that this effect continued in the experimental group participants and that the improvement detected in the participants' Brief Symptom Inventory somatization and hostility (anger/hostility) dimensions continued. However, no improvement was observed in the scores of the control group in the posttest of the same scales. Therefore, by looking at the veterans' God Perception Scale and Brief Symptom Inventory scores, it can be stated that the implemented program has a positive effect on the veterans' perception of God and their psychological health.
