Throughout history, epidemics have occurred that have caused people to fear and worry. Cholera is undoubtedly one of the epidemic diseases that can cause more or less disaster depending on the degree of impact on the society in which it occurs. Although the cholera case that occurred in Cizre in the summer of 1890 is mainly examined, it is known that cholera cases occurred here and there before that date. Cholera cases in 1836, 1848, 1850, 1865-1866 are examples that can be given. The 1890 cholera case originating from Mosul also affected Cizre and caused the death of many people. In this study, it is aimed to determine the measures taken against cholera, as well as the cases of morbidity and death caused by the cholera case of 1890, which was seen in many provinces in the Ottoman Empire, especially in Cizre.
