Notes	Cities have a diverse historical and cultural past, have a dynamic structure, are open to change and have the opportunity to produce and discover new dimensions. Mardin, one of these cities, is located in a geography where important cultures and religions intersect in the north of the Mesopotamia Region, in the west of the region called Tur Abdin in history, at the most convenient passage connecting the Upper Tigris basin to the al-Jazeera plain, overlooking the ancient roads coming from Iran, Azerbaijan and Anatolia and leading to Syria, al-Jazeera and Iraq. The Pagan religion, which started in the region from the early periods, was later adopted by Christianity and Islam, and many architectural works specific to these religions were shaped and turned into artistic and cultural identities. Mardin Museum contains many movable cultural assets belonging to these ancient cultures. The building, which was the Syriac Catholic Patriarchate of the period, was later used as a museum. In our article, information will be given about the Mardin Museum, which has such a rich and important history, and examples of contemporary museology practices carried out within the museum will be given.
