The subject of this study is the place and importance of Hâfız Mehmet Ali Demir, who grew up in the "mevlidhan" tradition in Mardin religious music culture. The fact that Mardin is a city rich in mosques makes mosque music undoubtedly the most important part of religious music. Hâfız Mehmet Ali Demir is a leading and important performer of mosque music in Mardin. At the same time, Demir is one of the last living representatives of the "mevlidhan" tradition in the region. The aim of the study is to express the religious music culture in Mardin in general terms and to present the prominent performance examples of Hâfız Mehmet Ali Demir, who grew up in this culture, in the region.
