Notes
Adhan is a call to prayer for believers. However, adhan is an important symbol of the Islamic religion, society and geography. Due to the symbolic importance of the adhan, various studies have been conducted on it. However, most of them have been about the voice, recitation and maqams in which the adhan will be recited, and a few have been about its importance and ruling. However, the call to prayer has a content beyond an invitation to prayer. For this reason, in the research, the words in the adhan were examined within the framework of the verses, and the Qur'anic foundations of the truths announced by the adhan were investigated. First of all, the adhan publicly declares to people to glorify Allah, which is one of the first commandments of the Quran. Later, the truth of belief in the prophethood of the Prophet Muhammad was communicated. By inviting people to prayer five times a day, the adhan aimed to establish this belief in monotheism in minds and keep it alive. A person shows his faith and sincerity in Allah through prayer. The adhan informs us that this belief and loyalty will lead people to salvation in both worlds. Because success is possible by living a life based on faith. For such a consciousness, Hz. The Prophet asked the believers to repeat the words of the adhan every time it was recited.
