Notes	The issue of apostasy and the provisions regarding apostasy come to the agenda from time to time and are discussed from different angles. Although it is understandable that the issue is handled primarily by Islamic law since the judicial and penal dimensions come to the fore, it is also important that it is evaluated by other scientific disciplines and handled with a comprehensive and multi-dimensional approach with the dimension of belief and imagination. Islam as a religion that ensures human happiness in this world and the hereafter; It shows the most ideal principles of the universe and things through the concept of God, man, knowledge and existence. In this context, it is a great misfortune for a person to abandon the values of Islam after being introduced to them. However, it is important to clearly state the approach of Islam in the world and the attitude of Muslims towards people in this situation. When we look at the verses about apostates, it is seen that the difficult processes that those who abandon Islam will be exposed to in the afterlife come to the fore. Hz. It is noteworthy that in the practices of the Prophet, those who were punished after apostasy also committed different crimes along with apostasy. In this article, Islam's approach to the issue of apostasy, as a religion that always emphasizes willpower and cares about human rights and fundamental freedoms, will be tried to be discussed, especially in the context of freedom of belief. Because in the information age, where transportation and communication are spreading at a dizzying speed, sharing the universal moral and legal values of Islam with all humanity has become an irreversible necessity.
