Notes While the characteristics of believers are described in the Holy Quran, their prayers after believing are mentioned. From this perspective, prayer is a sign of the believer's faith. However, in some verses, when talking about the people of Hell, it is seen that they do not perform prayers, that they waste their salats, that their salats consist of whistling and clapping their hands, etc., and that they are addressed with promises. In this study, the addressees of the verses containing the promise address to those who do not pray were determined by taking into account the siyak-sibak and the integrity of the Quran. In this context, the mentioned verses were examined considering the order of their revelation. In addition, the comments made in classical and modern tafsir sources were identified and the existing differences were compared. Thus, the equivalents in the verses of the differences between the special meaning of the word "salat", which was acquired with Islam and which was the name of a certain worship, and "salat", which was the name of worships performed in different ways in previous periods, were determined. It has been evaluated how the verses in which the concept of "salat" is used, regardless of the terminological meaning, are translated in Turkish meanings and how this fits with the dictionary meaning and the context of the verses.
