Notes
The concept of multiculturalism is often used to express the ethnic and religious diversity in a society. This concept is insufficient to describe internal dynamics. For this reason, in the case of Mardin, a new concept was focused on: Ebruli culture. The "value" approach was taken as a basis in conceptualization. The article aims to explain the concept of marbling culture and to point out the centuries-old interaction dynamics of different ethno-religious groups. For this purpose, concepts such as mosaic, rainbow and hybrid, which are appropriate to be used in Western countries, have been questioned. These concepts have been evaluated as insufficient to describe the socio-cultural dynamics in Turkey. It is also emphasized that the interaction between different ethno-religious groups in Turkey is built on "value". However, although this form of interaction dates back to a long historical past, it is changing today. However, it has been concluded that improvements in the socio-cultural field should be addressed with "value"-centered approaches.
