Notes In recent years, the demand for cultural tourism in the world continues to increase. Türkiye is one of the most important centers of culture and civilization in the world in terms of its historical past and cultural riches. Despite this, Turkey's share in the cultural tourism market is far behind the world average. The aim of this research is to contribute to the promotion of the cultural tourism potential of Ahlat, the cradle of history, culture and tradition. Research data was obtained through document review, observation and face-to-face interviews. Ahlat acts as a bridge between Central Asian Turkish culture and Anatolian Turkish culture and is an open-air museum that gives important clues about the socio-cultural characteristics of the Turks. The research reveals that the Seljuk Cemetery, the largest Islamic cemetery in history, and the tombs reflecting the mausoleum tradition of the Turks are among the most important cultural values of Ahlat.
