Notes
The history of Jawi script is an inherited art of the Terengganu people. The use of the Jawi script has brought a significant impact towards the way of life and mentality of the people. It has been fully utilized in spreading education and writing by the Muslim scholars and scientists in producing books such as Islamic religion books, law, literary works as well as intricate hand-made carvings. Society has highly commended effort and has used the Jawi script up to now as references and documentation. This article aims to raise awareness among Malaysians and Malay society to appreciate the Jawi script in an effort to preserve the originality of the Malay script heritage.
